How it works

See it. Try it. Keep it.

Like stepping through code in a debugger, a lesson moves one step at a time. You see what changed, and why, before you move on.

01
🧑‍🏫A branch is just a label on a commit. Nothing gets copied.

See each step

A guide explains the idea right next to the thing it’s about, while the picture changes one step at a time.

Try it yourself

Lessons stop and wait for you. Do the step yourself, see exactly what it changed, then answer a quick question to check it landed.

Keep the summary

Each lesson ends with the key ideas, the real commands and a short look under the hood. Come back to it any time during your access.

Each course goes from the first concept to confident everyday use, one short lesson at a time.

Why visual

Most tools aren’t hard. They’re hidden.

A command changes files, history or state you can’t see, so it’s easy to memorise steps without knowing why they work. We draw the hidden part, so you can follow along.

Long video courses

Watch someone else type
  • Hours of footage to scrub through
  • Easy to watch without practising
  • Hard to find that one explanation later

Docs & articles

Accurate, but abstract
  • Often assume you already have the mental model
  • Walls of text and terminal output
  • No built-in check that you understood

Step Through Code

See it, try it, keep it
  • Animations that show what each step changes
  • Your turn on the same screen, plus quick checks
  • Your pace, one slide at a time
  • A short summary at the end of every lesson
FAQ

Questions, answered.

Not for a beginner course. Every course page lists what you should know before you start.

In a video, you watch someone else do the work. Here, a lesson shows one step, explains it, then waits while you do it yourself. You can't fall behind, and a quick check tells you straight away if something didn't make sense.

No. Every lesson runs in your browser. When a course needs a tool installed for real work, one of its lessons walks you through it.

Yes. Most sections end with a short exercise: a few challenges on a small project, solved by typing the real commands yourself, with a hint if you get stuck. Each challenge earns up to three stars, so you can see what stuck and replay to improve. Exercises are guided: your command is checked against the answers for that task, so if you know another valid form, the hint shows the one expected.

Created by software professionals with a decade of industry experience. Every command and its output is checked against the official documentation and a real terminal.

Most lessons take a few minutes. You move slide by slide, so you can stop at any point and pick up where you left off.
